PRK was the first type of laser eye surgery, and it’s still a relatively common procedure to this day. The surgeon uses a laser to reshape the outer layer of the cornea.
LASIK is the most popular laser eye procedure available. Rather than reshaping the cornea from the outside, the ophthalmologist creates a small flap in the outer layers of the cornea and folds it back. The surgeon then uses a laser to reshape the middle layers of the cornea. Once the ophthalmologist achieves the desired shape to correct your prescription, they replace the corneal flap.

Our staff will schedule you for a number of follow-up visits in the months after your refractive surgery to keep an eye on your progress and we’ll continue to provide you with comprehensive eye examination yearly thereafter.
